Mark Sherry

Mark Sherry is a fourth-generation row crop farmer who works with his family on Serry Farms, located west of South Bend, Indiana. His great-grandfather came over from Belgium and started a farm in the early 1900s. Later, his grandfather purchased the land and the original homestead to establish Serry Farms in 1953, where they continue to operate today.

After growing up immersed in agriculture, Mark passion for the science behind soil grew, leading him to pursue a degree in agriculture. While working towards his degree, he interned with Greg at G&K Concepts and discovered his enjoyment for consulting and helping other farmers. In the spring of 2014, he graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a BS in Crop and Soil Science.

Shortly after graduating, Mark made the decision to start his business, Sherry Crop Consulting. He aimed to help other farmers succeed by connecting the chemistry of the soil to the final product—crops—always focused on improving yields and soil fertility. He has since continued to grow his business as time allows while being heavily involved in managing the family farm. His goal is to sustainably develop both his business and the farm over time, fostering positive relationships with fellow farmers in the area.

Mark and his wife, Heather, look forward to teaching their two children, Wyatt and Isabelle, the ins and outs of farming and the importance of being good stewards of the land, with hopes that they will join the family business someday. Mark’s grandfather’s motto, “God, Family, Farm,” continues to guide him as his most important driving forces.
