John Mackson, from Pinconning, Michigan, owns and operates MAX Agronomy, LLC. He has been an Amplify Consultant for over 40 years, specializing in managing high pH soils. John's extensive experience and expertise in agronomy have made him a valuable asset to his clients, providing tailored solutions to optimize soil health and crop production.
John began his career with Dennings and Associates in 1979 after earning his BS in agronomy from Michigan State University. He successfully expanded his assigned area from approximately 4,000 acres to over 90,000 acres. In 2017, as Roger Dennings was retiring, John established his own company, MAX Agronomy, LLC. In 2020, he hired John Koenig to help grow the business and prepare him to take over in the future. John's work spans a variety of crops, including sugar beets, pickles, corn, and dry edible beans, with a focus on variable rate (VR) applications due to the diverse soil conditions in the region. He has also conducted projects in Portugal and Hungary.
John has been married to his wife, Joan, for 45 years, and they have three children: John (43), Matt (41), and Jenny (39). They enjoy spending time with their eight grandchildren, aged 2 to 15. A fan of college sports, John officiated high school basketball for 26 years and enjoys fishing, golfing, and attending Michigan State University football games. Most importantly, he cherishes time spent at their cabin with his family.
