Corrie Almack is from Ontario, Canada, where he owns Almack Agronomic Service, Inc. He has been an Amplify Consultant for 41 years. Corrie has found his strengths in assisting clients to prevent and solve problems, thereby reducing stress in their lives.
Corrie Almack joined Brookside fresh out of university at the age of 21 after obtaining his Agricultural Degree from the University of Guelph. Over the years, he has developed a diversified client base specializing in fruits and vegetable production, but the majority of his consulting time is spent with golf courses. Most of his agricultural clients are within one hour of his office(s), and many have been with him for close to 40 years. In many situations, he is now working with the sons of the original clients.
His golf course business is far more national, with clients in at least six different provinces. Corrie has most of the top-ranked courses in the country as clients, which he finds very humbling.
Born and raised on a hobby farm, Corrie spent his summers during high school and university “on a tractor” growing mostly hay and wheat (straw) for the local horse community. Through a classmate at university, he learned about Brookside and met Keith McKell, who was, at the time, the only agriculture-based consultant in the country. Knowing that he could never start farming, consulting to farmers was a natural step. Corrie expresses gratitude to people like Keith and Dick Psolla for assisting him in those early years, as he felt quite isolated in his field.
Eight years ago, with the passing of his father, Corrie purchased the homestead from the estate and now manages an 80-acre forest in his parents' legacy, which he calls the Claremont Fitness Centre due to the extensive work required. Between there and Patty’s house, where his other office is located, he has no shortage of properties to maintain.
Like many other consultants, Corrie has faced challenges in attracting and maintaining new consultants in the organization, with the exception of David Smith. Dave had been a client of Corrie's for many years and wanted a career change. When Dave approached him and asked if there was room in Ontario for both of them, Corrie enthusiastically agreed and sponsored him. Twenty-five years later, they are recognized as the turf authorities in the country.
In conclusion, Corrie is very grateful for the Brookside Organization, which has allowed him to have a profession that has been both financially and intellectually satisfying. He, like most in the organization, is willing to share experiences and information for the betterment of the Amplify Network.
