Corrie Almack

I am from Ontario, Canada where I own Almack Agronomic Service, Inc. I have been an Amplify Consultant for 41 years now. I have found my strengths to be in assisting clients prevent and solve problems so they have less stress in their lives.

I joined Brookside fresh out of University at the age of 21 after obtaining my Agricultural Degree from University of Guelph. Over the years I have developed a diversified client base specializing in fruits and vegetable production, but the majority of my consulting time is spent with golf courses. Most of my agricultural clients are within one hour of my office(s) and many have been with me for close to 40 years. I am now working with the sons of the original client in many situations.

My golf course business is far more national with clients in at least six different provinces. I have most of the top ranked courses in the Country as clients, which is very humbling.

I was born and raised on a hobby farm and spent my summers during high school and university “on a tractor” growing mostly hay and wheat (straw) for the local horse community. Through a classmate at University, I learned about Brookside and met Keith McKell, at the time the only agriculture-based consultant in the whole Country. I knew I could never start farming, so consulting to them was a natural step. I wish to thank people like Keith and Dick Psolla, for assisting me in those early years, as I was really on an island up here.

Eight years ago, with the passing of my father, I purchased the homestead from the estate and now have an 80-acre managed forest to maintain in my parent’s legacy. I call this the Claremont Fitness Centre as always, much work to do. Between there and Patty’s house, where my other office is, I have no shortages of properties to maintain.

Like many other consultants, I have witnessed many disappointments in attracting and maintaining new consultant in our organization. The exception being David Smith. Dave had been a client of mine for many years and wanted a career change. When he approached me and asked, if there was room in Ontario for both of us, I said absolutely! I will gladly sponsor you, let’s take on the world. So, 25 years later, we are recognized as the turf authorities in the Country.

In conclusion, I am very grateful for the Brookside Organization and allowing myself to have a profession that has been both financially, but more importantly, intellectually satisfying. I, like most in the organization, are willing to share experiences and information for the betterment of the Amplify Network.
