Billy Boone

Billy Boone, originally from South Texas, lived there until 1999 when he relocated to Indiana. He found a comfortable role as a security supervisor at an automotive plant, where he worked for about 15 years. However, in 2011, after a new security company took over and his company lost the contract, Billy decided it was time for a change. Seeking a less stressful career, he chose to go back to school and pursue agronomy, a field that felt like the right fit for him.

In 2014, Billy secured his first agricultural job through a job fair. He started as an intern, sampling during peak seasons while still completing his studies. This internship eventually led to a full-time position, where he collected samples, prepared them for testing, and assisted in operating the spectrometer and conducting pH testing. Additionally, Billy learned to work with Farm Works and AutoCAD programs for mapping, further expanding his skill set. His role at the Farm Clinic was diverse, tackling various tasks as they arose, and he found it both challenging and fulfilling. However, despite enjoying his work, Billy realized it was time to take the next step in his career.

Although Billy had gained expertise in preparing recommendations for the consulting process, he had not yet been involved in the consulting itself. This changed when he met Cliff and Jason Maust, who introduced him to their family farm and business. Recognizing the opportunity for growth, Billy joined Ag Advantage on April 1, 2024. Since then, the Ag Advantage team, along with the Brookside and Amplify teams, has been a valuable source of knowledge, helping him develop his consulting skills and guide farmers in improving their soil and increasing their yields. Billy looks forward to building a successful career with Ag Advantage and continuing his professional growth in the agricultural industry.
