Abby Horlacher

Abby Horlacher, from Frankfort, Indiana, is the owner of Nickel Plate Consulting. She has been affiliated with the Amplify Organization for 3 years, having started her journey with the Brookside/Amplify organization in 2017. During her tenure, she acquired extensive knowledge in soil fertility and scouting. In August 2020, Abby took the entrepreneurial leap to establish her own business.

Abby grew up on a 1,100-acre grain farm where her Saturday mornings were spent at the farm with her father, three siblings, grandfather, and uncle. Her family has a strong connection to Purdue University, and she knew she would attend there, ultimately finding her passion in agronomy. She graduated in 2017 and began her career at Greene Crop Consulting. In 2018, she married Kyle, and they currently live on his family’s farm, enjoying farming daily. In the fall of 2020, Abby graduated from Iowa State University with a Master’s in Agronomy. While at Greene Crop Consulting, she discovered her love for the lab and consultant organization, which inspired her to start her own business to foster personal growth.

Abby’s first passion is family, and when she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, whether it’s working around their farm or garden, visiting the farmers market, or going on family vacations. She values continuous learning and excels in corn, soybeans, wheat, and scouting. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will find the person who does.
