I grew up in a small fishing village called Bermagui on the south-eastern coast of Australia and it is also where I started my turf management career. After completing my apprenticeship in Bermagui and turf management studies at CIT, I moved overseas and have been fortunate to be able to work on golf courses in many different countries and climates with both warm and cool season grasses including; The Unites States, Malaysia, Brunei (Superintendent) and Thailand (Director of GCM) to name a few.

I have always been interested in turfgrass nutrient requirements and turf surface performance which eventually led to me to start my consulting business, BRT Agronomy, and become a part of the Amplify Network at Brookside Labs. Since then, I have been assisting my clients in the Asia Pacific region to improve their turf health, turf performance and consistency while reducing their inputs and costs.

I currently live in a small coastal town in SW Thailand with my wife of four years and our new baby boy born March 2021. The area around Hua Hin is famous for growing pineapple and palm sugar and is a hot spot for kite surfing of which I hope to learn in the not-too-distant future!

My Aussie family are still living in my hometown in Australia and we regularly fly back once or twice a year (before COVID) to spend time with them. This would usually include a lot of BBQ, fishing, and generally exploring the beautiful outdoors for which we are spoiled for choices in Australia.
